Let me show you some of the stuff and see what they planned as possible content for the game.
Alternative structures for "Dreamscape" (LittleBigPlanet/Buzz stage):
Kinda pisses me off. Look how well designed these are? Much better than the one who made it into the game. Very neat with the towers, the clouds and the "seesaw" on the right side.
Originally planned Parappa stage:
Looks familiar, right? It resembles the Super Smash Bros. Melee & Brawl stage "Onett", which is Ness' hometown in Earthbound. Here is a picture:
Maybe it was too much of a copy.
Toro's moveset differences and effects:
The outfit, top right, looks cool and represents Japan more. And the wave looks much better than the fishbone.
Concept designs and interactive interface development:
This could have been the official roster. Characters such as Buzz, LocoRoco, Chimera (long rumored), Captain Blasto, more characters from Fat Princess and Parappa the Rapper etc.
Why aren't they in the game? They are all Sony exclusives, didn't they fit into the game? Was it too unbalanced? Too little time? Or will they make it in the sequel? We'll see.
Also the portraits of the characters are much more improved and unique. Everything in general has a clear structure just like SSB. We couldn't have a cheaper design than we have now.

Quite shocked that SO much didn't make it in the game. My theory: No time and a lot of pressure from Sony to release it soon. Remember it was released just one year ago, just one year before PS4. Sony was counting on a lot of sales and pushed it very hard. Even without a real story mode and all the awesome planned things. I hope for a great comeback on PS4 and I hope for another developer for it. I think SuperBot did a really good job, but I don't think that they have enough experience for something that big. Guess Sony saw that, too. I wish Naughty Dog made it, as it was originally planned. Even if they aren't experienced in fighting games, but they sure know how to make a BIG game. Maybe Naughty Dog is working on PASBR2 AT THIS VERY MOMENT.
